For the past three weeks, I’ve been using the iPhone 15 Pro Max every day, and if you’re considering upgrading, it has a lot going for it. The new Action button is practical, and the titanium design is eye-catching. The enhanced optical zoom is particularly impressive, and I’m happy that USB-C charging is now available. My review of the iPhone 15 Pro Max will show you that Apple has done enough to claim the top spot on our list of the best phones. However, there are several disadvantages. Reason to Buy iPhone 15 Pro Max

Smaller and lighter titanium design

When you take up the iPhone 15 Pro Max, one of the things that surprises you the most is how light it is. It weights 7.8 ounces as opposed to the iPhone 14 Pro Max’s 8.47 ounces. This is because the new titanium band design weighs less than the older stainless steel band design.

Additionally, Apple was able to reduce the bezels surrounding the iPhone, making the device slimmer and shorter. Additionally, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is more comfortable to grip and use thanks to its new curved shape and rounded edges.

The smart new Action button

The Action button, which can be long-pressed to enter quiet mode but does so much more, takes the place of the ringer switch on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. You can add several tasks to the Action button in the Settings app, but only one task can be set at a time. For instance, you can create a voice memo, turn on the torch, or activate the camera by long pressing the Action button. A 5x telephoto zoom lens

Although Apple is undoubtedly lagging behind, I am grateful that the iPhone 15 Pro Max has a tetra prism lens that allows for a 5x optical zoom. Compared to the iPhone 15 Pro Max’s 3x magnification, it is a significant upgrade. Additionally, the 15 Pro Max offers a higher digital zoom of up to 25x as opposed to the previous model’s 15x. According to our comparison of the zoom cameras of the Galaxy S23 Ultra and Pixel 7 Pro, the iPhone 15 Pro Max performs admirably at a 5x zoom, offering a high degree of clarity and a wide dynamic range. Very extended battery life

The 15 Pro Max has incredibly long battery life. By the time I arrive home around 7 p.m., even if I forget to charge the phone at work after a 1.5-hour travel in both ways, I usually have 30% or more battery life left. With continuous web browsing at 150 nits of screen brightness over 5G, our Tom’s Guide battery test yielded an amazing 14 hours and 2 minutes of battery life for the 15 Pro Max. This is around 20 minutes longer than the iPhone 14 Pro Max and beats the standard iPhone 15 Pro by more than 4 hours.

Gaming with A17 Pro

The A17 Pro in the 15 Pro Max has the first 3nm chip in history. And as you can see from our collection of 15 Pro benchmark results, it outperforms the Android opposition. What’s really intriguing, though, is what the new GPU can do. With raytracing functionality, this powerful 6-core GPU can run console-quality games and produce realistic lighting effects that are often found on home consoles like the PS5 or Xbox Series X. The graphics in games like Diablo Immortal are breathtaking, while the zombie attacks in Resident Evil Village are deliciously horrific. Reasons to Skip iPhone 15 Pro Max

Very poor charging

Apple inexplicably continues to use the same 20W charging speed even though the 15 Pro Max switches from Lightning to USB-C, and our testing did not yield very positive results. The battery meter barely reached 41% after 30 minutes, but the Galaxy S23 Ultra reached 57% in the same period of time. And it took the OnePlus 11’s 80W charger 30 minutes to reach 100%. The good news is that other Apple products, such as the recently released AirPods Pro 2 with USB-C, may be charged using your iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The action button can only perform one action at once

Multiple actions cannot be mapped to the button at once. Therefore, you cannot mute calls using it if you wish to start the camera. Apple should consider allowing you to perform one action with a double push and another with a long press. Allowing users to triple tap the Action button would also simplify the process for users to modify its functionality. You currently have to open the Settings app every single time.

It’s costly

The iPhone 15 Pro Max starts at $1,199, which is $100 more than the 14 Pro Max. To be fair, you do receive 256GB of storage out of the box with that extra $100, which is double what you would have spent for 256GB of storage with the prior model. In the end, though, the price of admission has increased. for the other hand, 128GB of storage for the iPhone 15 Pro starts at $999.

Bottom Line

In general, I believe that upgrading to the 15 Pro Max is worthwhile, particularly if you currently own an older model of the iPhone—specifically, the 13 Pro Max or before. With a lighter and more compact design, you get a fantastic Promotion display with always-on functionality and a vastly enhanced camera system. Furthermore, the battery life is unrivalled.
